Bumpkin, Notting Hill’s food lovers’ hangout, opened its doors in November 2006, offering traditional country cooking with a British focus. The four-storey building has three open kitchens and is home to a casual brasserie; a first floor restaurant and second floor private dining room. Bumpkin’s top floor houses the attic – a private room for late nights and games. The brasserie features large windows, sharing tables and rustic furniture. Bumpkin’s first floor has a slightly more ‘grown-up’ feel, and seats up to 42 guests. Here banquette seating and richly upholstered chairs create a luxurious feel while wall lights made of original hopsacks from a Kentish farm. The second floor is Bumpkin’s private dining room, including a private bar and can accommodate up to 30 guests. It has three large communal tables and baronial style antique chairs - some in their original leather and some re-upholstered in richly coloured and textured fabrics. The Attic has been individually designed with pure pleasure in mind. Furnished with a random and shabby collection of comfortable chairs and sofas, card tables and rugs, guests will immediately feel at home in this eclectic country house styled space. |
