Aptly housed in what were once the gold holding vaults of the Bank of England, Gaucho City draws in the city buzz from across London’s square mile. Gaucho offers a winning combination of sultry, Stygian colour schemes & succulent, expertly grilled animal protein. Argentinean beef is at the heart of the menu: rib-eye, sirloin, fillet & rump steaks in three sizes; or marinated spiral churrasco cuts. Those with gargantuan appetites could also embark upon the mammoth gran parrillada of lamb, rump steak, chorizo pinchos, morcilla (black pudding), sweetbreads & chicken. Though the restaurant is scarcely a destination for vegetarians, there are a few non-meat options: seafood ceviche, say, or a starter of corn, pepper & basil empanada.
